European Parliamentary elections, 2019

Elections to the European Parliament are due to take place on Thursday 23 May.

Islington, together with all other London boroughs, is part of the London Region for the European Parliament, which elects eight Members of the European Parliament (MEPs). The list of candidates can be viewed in the ‘Useful documents’ section.

The notice of election was published on Monday 15 April – a copy can be found at the foot of this page.

The last date to register for this election has now passed as has the opportunity to register for a postal vote application.

If you want to apply for a new proxy vote, where someone votes on your behalf, you must do this by Wednesday 15 May by 5pm. Apply on our proxy voting page.

If you are a European Union (EU) citizen (excluding Ireland, Cyprus and Malta) registered to vote in the UK, you have now missed the deadline to return your European Parliament voter registration form and will not be able to vote in the European Parliamentary election in Islington.
